The Studio
A design practice built on restraint, proportion and the conviction that a room should feel inevitable — as if it could not have been arranged any other way.
"We approach design the way a composer approaches silence — knowing what to leave out is the discipline."
Tastiaga Interior was founded in Islamabad on a simple but stubborn idea: that decoration and design are not the same thing. Decoration fills a room. Design shapes it — determining how light enters in the morning, where a conversation naturally gathers, which materials will look better in ten years than they do today.
Over more than a decade, we have brought that conviction to private residences, commercial interiors and hospitality spaces across the twin cities. Each project begins the same way: we listen. Not to what a client thinks they want, but to how they describe the way they live, work and want to feel in a space. Everything else follows from that.
We work in a studio model — small by design, accountable by principle. Every project is handled directly by our senior team, without being delegated to a junior who hasn't heard the brief. This means fewer projects at any one time, and considerably more care in each.
The result, consistently, is spaces that feel unhurried. Not sparse for the sake of it, not maximal because it is expected — simply resolved, with nothing surplus and nothing missing.
What guides the work.
Considered Restraint
We add nothing that does not earn its place. The discipline of restraint is not minimalism for its own sake — it is the refusal to let a space become cluttered with good intentions. Each element is either necessary or beautiful, ideally both.
Honest Materials
Stone, timber and metal chosen to age gracefully rather than to photograph well once. We do not use materials that pretend to be something else, and we do not specify finishes that will date or fail within a decade. What we use is what it is — and it is chosen to last.
End-to-End Delivery
One studio, accountable from concept to completion. We do not hand off to contractors and disappear. We do not design in isolation and expect someone else to translate it faithfully. The same team that draws the plan sees the handover — and the gap between intention and result stays closed.
Built Around You
Every brief is private, personal and unhurried. We do not run identical processes for every client or force a project into a template. The conversations are real, the timelines are realistic, and the outcome reflects you — not a style we were already planning to use.
How a project unfolds.
We listen first: how you live, work and want to feel. No templates, no assumptions.
Mood, materials and spatial direction take shape — grounded in the brief, not borrowed from a trend.
Drawings, finishes and details resolved precisely before anything is built or ordered.
Trusted craftsmen build to an exacting standard, overseen throughout by the same team that drew the plans.
We hand over a space that feels effortless — and stay available if anything needs attention.
Let's design something quietly extraordinary.
Whether you have a clear brief or just a feeling about how a space should change, we would like to hear about it.
